" FROM THE OUTSET I FELT LIKE I COULD FINALLY BREATH "
I always brushed off needing to talk to someone when my friends or family suggested it. I lost my pops traumatically in 2021, and 2 and a half years on I was still really struggling and knew I needed help. I wanted to find a local therapist and Katie's Therapy Walks popped up. I'd never heard of walking therapy before but it sounded like a bit of me. I knew I could at least try this and I'm so incredibly glad I did.
From the outset I felt like I could finally breath and Katie instantly put me at ease. Every walk I was given a guilt free, non judgmental space to just talk it all out and begin to heal. Katie validated my grief which was huge and something I didn't even know I needed. She helped me unravel the massive web of guilt, pain and trauma that my grief was tangled up in. In just over 4 months Katie took me from a person who was just trying to survive each day to a person who is really thriving.
I was taught so many different skills to help me process and find peace in things that have happened, as well as new ways to look at situations going forward that I know I will use forever. I really had no idea what to expect when I started this journey and it is really hard to sum up in a sentence what Katie did for me, but in a nutshell she completely changed my life! I got me back and so did my husband and little girl. There's nothing else I can really say other than the biggest forever thankyou xx

" I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATIE AND THERAPY WALKS "
I had been looking at getting some additional support for the last couple of years, but struggled to find someone who I felt confident could help as it is difficult to find a recommendation. When I found Therapy Walks the concept instantly stood out to me as fan of walking and the outdoors. After an initial consultation with Katie I felt confident that Katie was a good fit for me. I am now several weeks into working with Katie and can highly recommend both Katie and the concept of walking therapy.
Through our weekly sessions I am able to talk to Katie in a confidential, safe and judgement free environment, which is helping to explore general anxieties that I am feeling. Being able to work with Katie at a weekend is a game changer as this previously restricted my ability to find someone, as is Katie’s flexibility in terms of weekly bookings.
Being outdoors has limited how emotional I am willing to get during a session and this is something to consider, however Katie has a couple of strategies to help with this and overall the concept of being outdoors and not in a confined space indoors has more benefits for me. I would highly recommend Katie and Therapy Walks to anyone thinking about seeking some support to deal with feelings and emotions and to understand more about why you are feeling as you are and how to start to make some positive changes.

I have found Therapy Walks so helpful and I instantly felt at ease talking to Katie. Throughout the sessions, with Katie's gentle prompting and encouragement I felt able to explore all kinds of issues, some that I wanted to bring to therapy and others that surprised me. This was really helpful as I had an idea of how therapy was going to go based on previous experiences, but the conversations with Katie felt a lot more organic and intuitive.
This meant I was able to share things that I hadn't realised were impacting me so significantly and subsequently gain knowledge and understanding about why this was through a trauma informed approach.
The setting for our sessions really helped the flow as we would be surrounded by beauty and it felt liberating to share how I felt with Katie and nature's kind ears listening. It helped to gain perspective.
Katie got to know me as a person and because of this she was able to validate my feelings and hold a mirror up to reflect the ways in which I wanted to change. She gave insightful suggestions about alternative ways to cope and deal with stress. What I valued most is she allowed me space and time and never rushed me.
Thanks to these sessions I have a new found confidence and skill set when it comes to boundary settings and understand the true meaning of self care. I really can't express enough how transformative this experience has been and I would really recommend for anyone looking to get insightful therapy that really does make a difference.
